2008-2011: CHÂTEAU KIRWAN

I started as a guide in Chateau Kirwan, Grand Cru Classé in Medoc during three years. I was in charge of the tourism district, from organizing visits and special diners to every administration tasks. It has been the base of my knowledge as a wine specialists.

2011-2012 : CHÂTEAU SOUTARD

This beautiful Vineyard, Grand Cru Classé of Saint Emilion has been the second step to complete a perfect training in two of the most famous wine region in the world.

Understanding the relations and differences between these two regions is essential to initiate our guests to the many secrets of the Bordeaux wines.

FROM 2012 :

I am currently working for a transport company as a driver and guide. It has been for me the perfect opportunity to conclude my training. In charge of the South West region, from Biarritz to Rocamadour, from Cognac to Carcassonne, I am able to take in charge each and every kind of guests.

To me, the secret of the art of guiding lays in our potential of adapting to the persons we are accompanying, in order to provide a unique tailor made experience. Finding the remote places, knowing every path, every single   scenic roads, avoiding busy touristic places if needed… This includes a  global knowledge of the history of France from Cromagnon to our days.

It is also fundamental that our guests get to really learn and understand our wine region. So the very important point is in our capacity of providing a clean and understandable speech about complicated topics such as the winemaking process or The Hundred Years War history around Aquitaine.

In such circumstances,  there are two essential elements. A perfect knowledge of the wine industry and history of France, but as well a perfect handling of the English language. Wine, is a poem and so, being perfectly bilingual is a must. As I often say, one guide has to be “drinkable”.

It was important for me to be perfectly fluent in the language of Shakespeare. The best and only way to learn a language is traveling. And I had the opportunity of spending a year in England and a year in New Zealand. I am proud I have come to that level of English and I often experience it. I do get a lot of notice from Americans and English speaking guests for my skills and capacities in explaining complicated elements in a clear manner.

Here is a summary of the different areas in relation with my cursus :

- Bordeaux Vineyards and city (Medoc, Saint Emilion, Sauternes…

- Arcachon, La Rochelle and Atlantic coast

- Périgord and Dordogne ( Sarlat, Lascaux, Rocamadour, Bergerac…)

- Carcassonne and around

- Cognac and around

- Tarn and Lozère and generally the South West region.
