Art history and art museums:
I came to history of art when I was studying at the high school. Our teacher was a local successful painter. Another local painter became one of my best friends and I was helping him to install his exhibitions. I started to collect drawings and then paintings of contemporary artists. So, the art is an important part of my life.
I always admire the architects for their artistic and engineering skills. France has such a rich patrimony starting within the creations of the first Celtic civilisation and the heritage of Antiquity going trough the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque and Classicism, listing an amazing number of churches and castles, to embrace Modern and Contemporary architectural challenges.
Fashion and jewellery:
Fashion and jewellery is another passion of mine. It started when I was a teenager, making my own fashion style. Once in France, I worked for three years as a voluntary for a famous Nigerian fashion designer creating in Paris. When I met him, He was just about organizing his first IFAF (International festival of African fashion) in Niger, in 1998, where I came as a part of organization staff. The whole experience let me know a lot of fashion and accessories designers. Actually one of my friends is a trendy designer in Prague.
Wine and gastronomy:
Learning about the French food and wine, I could experience both when I came to my adoptive country. I appreciate richness, diversity and inventiveness of French gastronomy. Cooking for my friends and myself, I like also to know the good places and go to different restaurants for sharing the pleasure of tasting. I enjoy visiting wine regions with magic vineyards and amazing cellars and I don’t stop admiring the wine making.
Gardens and botanic:
Originally from the countryside, I have always been in contact with flowers and plants. I grew up with products from the kitchen gardens of my grand parents or my parents. My mother gave me the pleasure for gardening and later on, thanks to my profession, I took joy in understanding different kinds of gardens and parks, their evolution and significance.
History, historical sites and monuments:
Although I don’t feel like a classical historian, I like history. I rather have the use for historical novellas, movies and documentaries than the history books. I found, in France, the joy for historical sites and monuments. There are beautiful religious and civilian old constructions and amazing places of memory.
Tradition and local history:
I prefer it to the general history. It gives more flexibility and possibilities on how to explore the life of everyday people in the past. I appreciate the intimacy of traditions and specificity of local histories.
Vintage furniture and flea markets:
I started to visit the flea markets or sale places of vintage furniture and to buy some pieces when I settled in Paris. It is still very exiting for me to go to these areas. I take pleasure in antique stores event if it is just for my eyes.
I love this period of art for liberating artist from almost only exclusive official commands, for showing a real explosion of artistic expressions, and bringing the art affordable for larger circle of amateurs.
Local sites off the beaten tracks:
I reap the benefits of quietness preserving the authenticity of these sites. And I’m systematically suggesting to my clients to take a stroll through these places even if it wasn’t planed.
Religion and religious monuments:
Although my religious background is Christian-catholic, I’m blessed with every peaceful and harmless expression of all faiths. I’m not practicing, however sanctuaries always attracted.
