I grew up as a daughter of a mining executive and as such, lived all across Canada, spending my weekends with my family exploring my vast country, which has instilled in me a passion for travel and an appreciation for people from all walks of life. As a Canadian, I have enjoyed being an international tour manager and a local Vancouver guide.

When my two sons were involved in a high school music program, it seemed only natural that I adopt the role of tour manager for international travel with high school music groups.  My managing has taken me through much of Europe, my favorite tours being those in France.

As a Vancouver guide, I appreciate the natural beauty of the outdoors.  I love to ski, swim, cycle, walk and enjoy boating.  I love exploring the Porte du Soleil mountains and have skied in Morzine, France for the last 3 years.

My passion for gardening led me to Giverny, Monet’s masterpiece, and a new appreciation for the wonders of the artistic world.  Fabulous gardens abound in Normandy and I am thrilled to share my enthusiasm with fellow green thumbs. I am an avid supporter of the arts : Opera, Symphony, Plays and Musicals are all a regular part of my life.  I attended my very first opera at the famous Opera Garnier in Paris and that experience has changed me forever.

History and particularly local Norman history, has claimed much of my attention lately and I’ve discovered that I descend from Jacques Cartier, fully explaining my attraction - to Normandy and Brittany. St Malo feels like a second home to me knowing that it well should.  Do I resemble him?  I asked myself, yes, in discovering my new world.

Knowing that my family played a part in WW2, I came in search of their involvement in French history.  I discovered how to trace our ancestors through the archives and visited the gravesites of my uncles and great grandfather who are buried in Flanders.  I have become very passionate of North America’s involvement in the World Wars and am pleased that I can assist you in your discovery journey.

Having lived in British Columbia, so close to the Okanagan valley, wine tasting is now my favorite hobby.  Bordeaux, St. Emilion, to name a few have captured my interest.  I’m lucky to have tasted some of the best wines France has to offer and am always eager to visit a new winery or to return to a favorite to sample their newest creation.*
