Arts history and Museums
I began study Arts History in High School, and over the time my skills have been developed in several areas : the various painting currents: since ancient art to contemporary art, architecture’s evolution, sculptures. I like to visit museums and particularly temporary exhibition during my free time, because I enjoy learning every day something new. During my studies, I learnt a lot, and it’s always a pleasure to convey and share my knowledge.
I still remember the first painting that I have studied, Impression soleil levant of Monet. It was my first crush, and also what I triggered my choice to continue to study art. Normandy inspired many painters, as Courbet, Monet, or Boudin and I am lucky, because I can see everyday why they went here: the light! Honfleur, le Havre, and Rouen, these cities are the symbol of the birth of the impressionism.
Thank to my study, my knowledge and my interest for architecture grow up every day. I think the buildings and the monuments can explain the history of the city : it is simple, just look around you and you can find some piece of history!
Since I was a little girl, I have been fascinated by churches and cathedrals. And I have always the same pleasure to describe and try to find how they built this amazing architecture! Look at the Mont Saint Michel, the basilica of Lisieux, or the cathedrals of Bayeux and Rouen, so many histories in these monuments.
I grew up in Caen so I can speak during many hours about this town! As the city of William the Conqueror, the city has a long and complex history. He built during his reign a castle, and two spectacular abbeys, who are still present in the city center. It is also a city with a rich religious heritage: you can find so many churches, that why its nickname is “the city of bell-towers”! I am always impress when I go on the ramparts, and see all the spires!
World War II
Talking about Normandy, is talking about the World War II and the landing beaches too. It is an important part of the history. The duty of memory was always important to me, and I like to present the history in an interesting way, and share with you my knowledge.
I am a greedy person, so I like testing everything! I am very lucky in Normandy, because between the cheeses, the apples and pears, the cream, the products of sea, Cider and Calvados of course, you have a lot to discovery in this local gastronomy!
